"Putting on the Ritz"

1920's Flapper

1950's Rock & Roll

1900's Music Hall

1940's Andrews sister

"Putting on the Ritz" is an upgraded production of the show formerly known as "From Cobbles to Rock".

Featuring a hundred years of music and eleven amazing costume changes, it takes the audience on an fascinating journey through time.

It begins in the year 1900 with the sound of horse's hooves upon cobbled streets, and distant barrel organs. Fiona enters and begins to sing the popular songs of the day from Grand Opera to current pops, demonstrating both the changes in musical taste that have taken place and Fiona's extraordinary vocal agility.

Each decade is represented with an appropriate costume change, and a narration describes the fashions and news topics of the day. Fiona has designed all of the costumes herself.

The maximum time for each costume change is 22 seconds!

"Putting on the Ritz" skilfully incorporates all the different musical sounds of the last century.

The show includes the crazy 'Roaring Twenties', the nostalgic 'Big Band' sounds of the 1940s, 'Rock and Roll', right up to the present day. It concludes with Fiona singing the powerful and timeless aria 'Nessun Dorma', which normally 'brings the house down'.

This show has been running since November, 1999. It is performed in two 45-minute halves with a 20 minute interval.

All the musical backing has been digitally recorded and has been specially arranged and produced for Fiona by expert musicians and technicians.

The show is suitable for theatres and larger venues.

It has never failed to amaze and delight the audience.
